When it comes to wireless audio playback, Sonos is no stranger to that concept. In fact, the company kind of made a name for themselves for being able to stream audio wirelessly from streaming services such as Spotify. However, if you were in the market for a speaker that is truly portable, Sonos has you covered.
Sonos has officially announced the Sonos Roam, a battery-powered, portable speaker that supports AirPlay 2 and several other interesting features. The speaker, which comes in white and black, doesn’t ship until April 20th, but you can preorder it now. It remains to be seen how the Roam sounds, but the specs are interesting. Sonos says with Roam, it was able to create the best sounding ultra-portable premium speaker. It comes with a compact footprint of 6.61 x 2.44 x 2.36-inches (168 x 62 x 60 mm) and weighs just 0.95.
- From the Sonos music menu, navigate to Radio by TuneIn My Radio Stations where the newly added station will be listed. On a Mac, the “Manage” menu can be found in the toolbar in the top left corner of the screen. On a PC, the “Manage” menu is found at the top left of the Sonos application.

- A new 'Sonos Roam' portable Bluetooth speaker has leaked ahead of its expected unveiling this month. According to The Verge, the Sonos Roam will be priced at $169, measure 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches.

The company has recently taken the wraps off its latest speaker, the Sonos Roam. As you can see in the photo, this speaker has been designed in the same veins as other portable Bluetooth speakers, where it is relatively small and compact and easy to stow away in your bag. It will support both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, where the latter can be used while on the go, and the former can be used while you’re at home.

As expected from a Sonos speaker, it will feature support for direct streaming from various streaming services, plus it also plays nicely with various digital assistants, and there is also AirPlay 2 support for iOS users. The Roam will offer up to 10 hours of continuous playback and has also been rated as IP67, meaning that it will be able to withstand a bit of water, making it usable outdoors while you’re camping or hiking.

The Sonos Roam will be released on the 20th of April and will be priced at £159. There will also be a magnetic wireless charger that will be sold separately in case wireless charging is something you are interested in.
